Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-GHKVGLALELEA, from human VDAC2, at C-terminal. Species sequence homology: bovine, canine.
Voltage-dependent anion channels (VDAC) are small pore-forming membrane proteins that regulate metabolite exchange across the mitochondrial outer membrane. Apart from metabolite transfer, VDAC role has also been suggested during apoptosis. VDAC2 is one of the isoforms of VDAC. It interacts with BAK and functions as a specific inhibitor of BAK-dependent mitochondrial apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:64,000 Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml, observed in human brain and testis lysates on ~30kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
