Immunogen: A synthetic peptide mapping to an epitope within residues 500-600 of the human VG5Q protein. Epitope: Unknown
Angiogenic factor (vasculogenesis gene on 5q), VG5Q is a critical protein for the initiation and maintenance of the vascular system. It shows strong expression in blood vessels and is secreted as vessel formation is initiated. Increased angiogenesis is a molecular pathogenic mechanism of Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS). Thus, VG5Q has been shown to be involved in KTS. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasm Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
