| Vimentin is one of the five major groups of intermediate filaments, a distinct class of cytoskeletal proteins, occurring in the mesenchymal cells. Localized vimentin can be detected in fibroblasts, endothelial cells, lymphoid tissues, and melanocytes. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunoperoxidase and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Frozen/Paraffin): 1:20-1:40. Shows reactivity on frozen tissue sections as well as formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue by immunoperoxidase and immunofluorescent assays. Western Blot: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
