Recombinant protein corresponding to human Vimentin
VIME is a member of the intermediate filament family. Intermediate filamentents, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton. This protein is responsible for maintaining cell shape, integrity of the cytoplasm, and stabilizing cytoskeletal interactions. It is also involved in the immune response, and controls the transport of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-derived cholesterol from a lysosome to the site of esterification. It functions as an organizer of a number of critical proteins involved in attachment, migration, and cell signaling. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Indirect Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Indirect Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:50 Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:10-1:50 Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
