Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to ERGRDYEKNKVCK, from the internal region (near the N-Terminus) of human Vitamin D Binding Protein. (NP_000574.2).
The vitamin D binding protein (DBP) is a multifunctional plasma protein that can modulate certain immune and inflammatory responses. The diverse cellular functions of DBP appear to require cell surface binding to mediate these processes. Numerous reports have detected DBP bound to the surface of several cell types and would support the concept of a cell surface binding site for DBP. Applications: Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 0.5-3ug/ml detects ~60kD observed human Lung and Ovary lysates (calculated MW of 52.9kD according to NP_000574.2) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
