VDR is a member of the super family of steroid hormone receptors. It is known to play a role in cellular growth and differentiation, calcium and phosphorus metabolism and bone remodeling. Human breast carcinomas, leukemias, and prostatic carcinoma cells express VDR, which can modify their growth and differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Gel Supershift Assay and Western Blot. Other applications have not tested. Recommended Dilution: Gel Supershift Assay: 1mg/ml Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml at room temperature for 2 hours. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: MCF-7 cells Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
