Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a thirteen amino acid sequence with the C-terminal region of human XIAP.
XIAP is an endogenous inhibitor of cell death, which functions by suppressing caspases 3, 7, and 9. The protein is also reported to play a a role in the activation of NF kappa B and the regulation of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs). Regulators of XIAP activity include XAF-1 and Smac. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: detects a band of ~57kD in human kidney lysates. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Reagents: Sheep anti rabbit IgG: HRP Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
