Synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of human YBX2 (KLH).
YBX2 is a major constituent of messenger ribonucleoprotein particles (mRNPs). It is nvolved in the regulation of the stability and/or translation of germ cell mRNAs. It binds to Y-box consensus promoter element and to full length mRNA with high affinity in a sequence-independent manner. It binds to short RNA sequences containing the consensus site 5-UCCAUCA-3 with low affinity and limited sequence specificity. Its binding with maternal mRNAs is necessary for its cytoplasmic retention. YBX2 may mark specific mRNAs (those transcribed from Y-box promoters) in the nucleus for cytoplasmic storage, thereby linking transcription and mRNA storage/translational delay. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
