15-keto-Prostaglandin F2a (15-keto-PGF2alpha) is a key oxidative metabolite of the primary prostaglandin PGF2alpha in vivo. The prostaglandin receptor agonist activity of 15-keto-Prostaglandin F2a itself is significantly attenuated. 15-keto-Prostaglandin F2a acts as a pro-inflammatory lipid mediator that potently binds to OPG, RANKL and TRAF6, and its level is significantly elevated in the serum of collagen-induced arthritis mice. 15-keto-Prostaglandin F2a can be used for the study of rheumatoid arthritis[1].
