Prostaglandin B1 (PGB1) is a metabolite of Prostaglandin A1 (HY-113053) with anti-inflammatory properties. Prostaglandin B1 acts as a non-competitive inhibitor of 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-PGDH). Prostaglandin B1 counteracts nanoplastics-induced mitochondrial damage, excessive activation of innate immunity and cytotoxicity, and can antagonize the activation of the cGAS-STING pathway. Prostaglandin B1 levels are negatively correlated with prolylhydroxyproline (associated with cardiac hypertrophy, systolic dysfunction and mitochondrial dysfunction) and cholesterol (accumulation of which causes lipotoxicity)[1][2][3].
