Capeserod (SL65.0155 free base) is a selective partial agonist of the 5-HT4 receptor, with a Ki of 0.6 nM for the h5-HT4 receptor. Capeserod acts as an inverse agonist at the h5-HT4 (a) receptor, while functions as a partial agonist at the h5-HT4 (b) and h5-HT4 (e) receptors, with EC50 values of 244 nM and 29 nM, respectively. Capeserod stimulates cAMP production and increases the levels of p-CREB, BDNF, Bcl-2 and VEGF in hippocampal tissues. Capeserod increases swimming and climbing behaviors, reduces immobility time, improves object recognition memory, and reverses aging and cognitive deficits. Capeserod is applicable to research related to depression and dementia. Capeserod is applicable to relevant research[1][2].
