Timigutuzumab (GEXMab73) is a glyco-optimized monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (ErbB2/HER2). Through glyco-engineering (typically afucosylation), the antibodys Fc region exhibits enhanced binding affinity for the FcgammaRIIIa receptors on immune effector cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells. This optimization significantly boosts Antibody-Dependent Cell-mediated Cytotoxicity (ADCC), enabling potent tumor cell lysis even in cases with low HER2 expression levels.
