UB-221 is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody inhibitor that targets IgE. It significantly reduces IgE synthesis by stabilizing the membrane-bound CD23 on B lymphocytes and inhibits FcԑRI-mediated activation and degranulation of basophils. UB-221 lowers IgE levels in cynomolgus monkeys and human IgE (epsilon, kappa) transgenic (hIGHE knock-in) mice, making it relevant for asthma and chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) research.
