Terminal Transferase, Calf (EC 2.7.7.31) is a template-independent polymerase that catalyzes the addition of deoxynucleotides to the 3 hydroxyl ends of DNA molecules. It can utilize double-stranded or single-stranded DNA with protruding, recessed, or blunt ends as substrates. Terminal Transferase, Calf (EC 2.7.7.31) lacks 5 or 3 exonuclease activity. The presence of Co2+ in the reaction can enhance the efficiency of end addition.
