Aprataxin is a member of the histidine triad (HIT) superfamily, some of which have nucleotide- binding and diadenosine polyphosphate hydrolase activities. Aprataxin may play a role in single- stranded DNA repair. Mutations in the gene have been associated with neurological disorder known as ataxia oculomotor apraxia-1. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-168 from human Aprataxin, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.
