Immunogen: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-313 from human UNG, expressed in E. coli.
The human UNG gene encodes both mitochondrial (UNG1) and nuclear (UNG2) forms of uracil-DNA glycosylase (UNG). These forms are generated from transcription from alternative promoters, promoter A and promoter B respectively, and the subsequent use of alternative splicing. UNG is responsible for the removal of uracil from DNA by hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond that links the base to the deoxyribose backbone, leaving an abasic site. UNG is a highly conserved enzyme found in many species. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
